Tips for Dressing up if You Have Straight Body Figure
Create Curves with Colors:
You can try wearing brighter colors clothing for your top and bottom but in a similar brightness, while doing this, u may wear a darker shade at your waist area.
Example:
- You can wear a light color dress with a dark color and wider belt to create the silhoulette
- You can also wear a two-tone color shirt. For the top: lighter color at the bust or shoulder area and dark color for the rest of the shirt and match it with a light color pants.
Clothings Shape:
The key to dressing a straight body is to wear clothes in a proportionate way for the top and bottom. You can do this by wearing a Tube Dress for example and to create a 'waist', you may want to add a wide and a darker color belt. To create a more curvaceous effect, add volume to your upper and lower body in a proportionate way by mixing and matching your clothes.
Dresses:
Choose dreeses with full skirt fitted waists and cuts or embellishments that draw attention and add volume to your bust and shoulders.
Tops:
Choose tops with cuts, necklines and embellishments that draw attention and add volume (or the illusion of volume) to your bust and shoulders while emphasizing a waistline. When selecting jackets, choose ones with a structured shoulder, flared bottom and nipped-in waist. Jackets that come to the hip-bone are the most flattering on your body type.
Bottom:
Look for full skirts with details or embellishment that draws the eye to the hips. Choose pants with flap-pockets and jeans with whiskering at the hips. Boot cut, trouser cut or slightly flared cuts are all flattering to your body type.
Acessories for Straight Body Types:
Wide belts, padded bras, body shapers that trim your middle.
Hope that all these tips will help you in your dressing!
